About The Team

McNeill Racing started off back in 2006 when Richard McNeill and his Dad Brian bought an Aprilia RS125 for the Aprilia Challenge in the Irish Clubmans Championship. Richard Raced all season and
having his mishaps and podium finishes he went on to getting crowned BEST NEWCOMER 2006, and finished 7th in the championship.
2007 Richard rode a Honda 125 G.P, with claiming his first victory at Mondello Park, Richard went on to finish 4th in the championship.
At the end of 2007 the team got offered to run a Suzuki 600 Supersport at the Irish Superbike Round at Kirkistown. Richard finished 15th in this race.
From the end of 2007 the team made their mind up from the good finish at Kirkistown to run a k7 600 Suzuki in 2008 season at Thundersport, a new form of British Racing, also held on Motors T.V (sky
413).
2008 got off to a good start with Richard finishing 6th place at Mallory park, first time at the circuit, and the first race of the British Thundersport GB.
The team came home to Bishopscourt open race in May and totaled their 600 Suzuki, with having little sponsorship at this stage they had a big struggle getting their bike repaired for the next round,
their next round ended up being Anglesey (Wales), September where Richard raced in the 600 Supersport and the Superbike races. His results where: 600ss – 4th 5th 5th
Superbike – 7th 7th 9th. These results where fantastic for the team to arrive at the track with a new built machine and after a big crash to get up this high.
Richard then went on to qualifying for the Mondello masters race at Mondello park, Co.Kildare but had to finish the race after two laps due to clutch problems.
The sunflower came next and with having top riders such as Michael Rutter, Chris Walker etc racing it was exciting, Richard Finished 18th Best in the wet.
2009
Richard competed in the British Thunderdsport 600 championship right across the U.K, his best place on the Suzuki gsxr 600 Supersport machine was 3rd place at Anglesey in September. The Race team then went on to finish 6th in the Championship. This was a great result for Richard as all the circuits he raced on where new to him, hopefully 2010 season will be much better!
